I'd Rather Be With You

To begin, there's no point to the photo above, I just thought I'd add a bit of colour to this black and white world of lettering.

So I've been back from Brisbane for 2 days now, and I just haven't worked up the energy/motivation to post until now.

I'll start off with letting you know that the whole time we were away, poor Daneeka was super duper ill and I think my immune system has finally weakend and I'm now stuck with her cold/flu.

So we arrived in Brisbane Friday night and went to the Motel/Resort place (it was pretty dodgy, but all we really did was sleep there) and instantly hit the hay, so we had pleanty of energy for Saturday at Queen Street (last minute decision).
At 8:30 Saturday morning we caught the bus into the city and stayed until 3:00. A definite highlight was taking some mad photos in those Japanese photo booths. And as I am technically challenged, I have no clue on how to work my scanner :/ therefore I'm unable to share my photos with you. While at Queen Street I picked up a super-cute top from temt, a very familiar dress from valleygirl and a vintage-look purse from dotti. Saturday night we dined at the Resort and it was very poorly put together, not enjoyable at all.

Sunday we caught a taxi into Chermside, where we bought a fair bit of smiggle stationary and I scored a water bottle, cotton on body pj's and underwear, another dress (this time floral), a beige cardi and something else that I can't quite remember at the moment. Sunday night was PINK, owhmygosh, seriously. She was soo much better this concert than her I'm Not Dead one. When she came on stage (through a pit in the bottom of the stage) I was so starstruck, that I got a bit teary. All her acrobatics and dances were so brilliant and sharp, she didn't drop her game once!

Our last day, Monday was quite uneventful, and I wasn't too impressed by DFO. I must admit I did pick up one cheap buy, a black and white icon bag for $17. Other than that I got yet again, some more underwear (I swear Daneeka and I live for underwear shopping).

It's now Wednesday night, and I'm sitting in my pajamas, quite content in my Eyore pajamas, drinking a frozen coke to sooth my ripe red throat. I didn't go to school today, or even leave my bedroom for that instance.

But before I go, I must share with you my latest marks on my report card:

A Maths
A English
A Science
B Geography
B HPE
A Business
B Music
A Speech and Drama
B Clarinet
(which is very impressive considering Mr Baylis and KAG were constantly on my case last term for never doing my assessment and being uncommitted. Although my remarks say that I'm not performing to my potential due to lack of motivation, but seriously, I have deep hate for the bloody clarinet!)

Well that's all for now, I need more sleep. Ciao.

The Afternoon Of...

Awh yay. Today's the big day, well, not really, today's just the begining to a great weekend. We're flying out tonight at 7:00 and going to the motel. And tomorrow, daneeka and I have decided on the Cherm haha. Which leaves Sunday for Queen Street and Monday for DFO. I haven't saved too much cash, so I'm not too sure if I can still get my Nike's, but eh, I guess you can't always get what you want.

So I'm currently downloading some new music, to entertain me throughout the flight. I'm also reading Criminal at the moment (Kudos to Kelley for introducing it to me), so that will accomany my mellow tunes quite contrastly haha.

Wow, I was close to forgetting! I have brown/purple/red hair now :o
It's quite different, but I think I'm growing used to it.

Well this was just a brief blog, and I'm sure I'll have a lot more to tell you when I get back on Monday night. Until then, I bid you, goodbye.

Whitsunday Voices

Today was an interesting one, a good day, a day full of smiles and cheerful students. Holly and I attended Whitsunday Voices today, clearly presented at Whitsunday Anglican. Many great authors, publishers and illustrators attended the event including John Marsden. Although the day was full of great literature and english, my favourite aspect would have had to be catching up with some old friends, and the coffee (I love that mobile coffee van). There was some very esentric performers there also, I wasn't quite sure what they were singing, or why they were dressed in such obscure outfits, but it was entertaining never the less. I'll definitely be going again next year, I don't know if I learnt a hell of a lot, but it sure was great.

Highlight of the day: Holly and I were minding our own business in the bathrooms at Whitsunday, when we all of a sudden heard a God-aweful squeal come from one of the cubicals, and a small child ran out crying. Turns out the poor dear had fallen into the lavetory. It was horrible at the time, but after about 15 seconds I couldn't contain my laughter any longer.

In the Interest of Myself

From here on in, I'm going to try and make these posts a bit more photographical, if that's a word, and lets say it is, I just totally ruined the "I'm great at English" effect I was going for, despite my bad spelling and grammer. Owhkay, just typed "photographical" into a word document, and turns out I wasn't incorrectly spelling a word close to that, so maybe there is such thing as "photographical". Kay, now I'm babbling.

I don't know if I spoke about this in my last post, but I'm sure I could talk about him all day. Michael Jackson, I feel so self-absorbed and arrogant, as his existance never meant much to me, except while at a family bbq with a drunk Grandparent/Aunt/Uncle trying to belt out one of his iconic tunes ie; Beat It, Thriller, Billie-Jean. But now he's gone I've been exposed to his greatness and his lifestyle. He was such a unique soul and died too young. I didn't once agree with the child molestation charges against him, noone who can write music about how much he loved the world and children, could possibly be a pedofile. He was such a great humanitarian. I keep using past tense to describe him, but really, his influence towards music and his generousity will live on for eternity. FYI: MJ's in the Guiness World Book of Records for donating the most money to charity ever.
Owhkay, so I'm currently listening to a golden oldie: Pardon Me - Incubus and the line I never thought I would be, at twenty-three, on the verge of spontaneous combustion makes me laugh every single time, as I am a sceptic of this 'spontaneous combustion' business.

Sheesh, I hate it when I have like 8752879364 things running through my mind, which I MUST put in my blog, then forget all of them.

Oooh, there's one, school. Today was 2nd day back, and I've been quite impressed so far, I've received my marks for Maths, Speech&Drama, English and Music, all doing pretty well. But I'm quite affraid of doing senior. I don't know if I'm ready to make life changing decisions and all that jazz, just yet. With the speak of school knocking on our doors, tomorrow Holly and I are going to Whitsunday voices, seeing a couple writers have a chat. I'm not sure what I want to do when I leave school, I was pretty eager to study journalism, but seeing the amount of people that actually read this, it's a bit demoralising, so now I'm leaning towards a Lawyer, and I'm sure that pays better anywho, ha I'm soo money hungry.

Post cards from out of town

Haha, now that I've posted one blog, I've caught the bug and I have an urge to post another, every couple of hours, just to refrain myself from using a diary to record my daily fetes.

Ever so, tonight while I was working a woman came in and was like "Thankyou" so I said "Hi, how are you?" she responded with "Good thankyou" I asked how her day had been and she answered with another "Good thankyou". I had to controll myself so I wouldn't blurt out "THANKYOU", this poor woman was so sincere or maybe flustered, I haven't quite worked it out, but it was rather an amusing 1.5 minutes.

That reminds me, sometimes when people come in to work and they're voice is abnormally deep or they have an accent I always have a sudden urge to mock them and use the same articulation as they do. It's just a reflex, I don't mean to be disrespectful.

Daneeka's over tonight, she's actually just flicked the light switch off. She's rather upset with me at the moment, because I made plans with Christie today -Mum's parner's, nefew's, wife (a list, I know)- to go driving tomorrow so I could show her around our city and a few of it's pro's. And when we picked up Daneeka from work tonight, she automatically assumed i had nothing planned, and stated that we were going to the movies at 9:30, and besides the fact I already had plans (she was invited too), I'm not much of an early waker, plus we have no way of getting there. So as it goes "I'm in the shit".

That brings me to another point, Josie. I'm waiting for a reply from her, as she's a mobile music archive, and I want/need songs to download, I have cash to burrrnnn. So if anyone's reading this, and knows any good acoustic bands, leave us a comment yehh?

It's been so long

And I'm very disappointed in myself!

I have so much to talk about, and I conciously feel that I don't have enough time.

I've been constantly checking other people's blogs to see if they've updated or not, and within my curiousity, I've completely discarded my love for writing my own.

Josie Stevens' and Rachel McGann's blogs are soo inspirational, and I'm sure they're well aware of my ocd with their blogging.

If anyone actually reads this thing, be sure to check Josie and Rachel's blogs

Owhkay, so since I last posted, sooo much has occurred! I went to Brisbane with Poppy and Courtney, it was sooo great! I scored a tan-leather-look bomber, off white turtle neck and pink, green and yellow Onitsuka Tigers, ahh they're my fave. I seem to be falling madly inlove with shoes, only sneakers though ha.

My next pair I'm splurging on is a pair of apricot coloured nike airs, with little sparrows on them. I can't wait! So, the reason I'm going to Brisbane next is for the Pink concert, ohmy I am so eager to mosh with my mother :) oh, and cora, who I recently discovered is going to the same concert as me, and she's in the mosh also.

Daneeka's also coming down with mum and I, and we're planning on shopping for 3 days straight, hitting DFO, Queen St and Chirmside first and formostly.

Ooh, the following week after pink, I'm lucky enough to be heading down to the gold coast with Taylah, my other best friend, where we'll be watching out mothers attempt to take out the gold in the qld masters tournament.

And on the 28th, Eskimo Joe and Bob Evans are coming to Mackay, I'm not too fussed on Eskimo Joe, but as I'm currently listening to Bob Evans, I'm rather excited for his arrival!

Anyway, getting back to the present. A couple of weeks ago was the Mackay Show : I wasn't as impressed as I have been in previous years, plus a friend's wallet was stollen, we were all interrogated by her mother, and I ate some horrible curry, it was rotton.

I've been inspired a bit lately, by none other than Frankie magazine of course. I'm attempting to modernise my room, with a bit of a vintage feel, if that makes any sence at all, I don't think it does. Besides, I'm struggling a fair bit, trying to save for Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Eskimo Joe, and somewhere between that pay my phone bill and download some music. Hopefully, as my birthday is coming up, I may score a few dollars, or even some ornaments for my room. I just wish I could outsource a cleaner to tidy up my mess of a room!

I shouldn't be so lazy -currently sitting in front of my computer at 12:57pm, in my pajamas- plus it's school holidays, so it's not as if I don't have ample amount of time to clean and refurbish my own little haven. But just so I can contradict myself, I am going to add that this entire holiday break we have and will continue spending it in and out of Mackay, going to and from Seaforth :/ I'm not much of a camper either. And this weekend, we're going to Rocky for some softball clinic, once again, yay can't wait :/

While I sit here, contemplating whether I should get out of my pajamas or not, I'll share with you a closing thought I found in Frankie just last night. The article was on a guy who had lived in Sydney, but decided to do something with his life, help others out, and travel to Kintore, a remote Aboriginal town in the NT:

I learnt a lot from Kintore and it made me question all these preconceived ideas you get growing up in a modern Australian city. Like why do we all have to get a job? Or worry about what we wear or watch? It makes you question all the silly things that rule our life, like have you ever tried to explain why there's 24 hours in a day?

That article made me realise that Australia is always sending troops over to Iraq and the Middle East when really, we are just as proverty stricken and deterred away from normality (black ties, stable income) in our own backyard and we don't even realise it, because we're a developed country, but that's not to say we don't still have developing towns within us.

Tangents

I think I'm in love!
I downloaded this Eric Hutchinson song today called "OK, It's Alright With Me" it is so great, but it only goes for 2:31 so that's pretty devostated. Just like how "Folkin' Around" by Panic at the Disco, it only goes for around 1:47
I absoloutly hate that about remarkable songs! They last just over a minute and that's all there is, there's never anymore song, so you just have to grin and bear it with the 2 chorus, 2 verse 2 minute song!

Anyway, on a different point. Today it rained for around an hour (why can't this song go for that long?) and it was very heavy, terential really. Seriously, all of the school's drains were flooded. And because I have such super friends, they decided to leave mine and Daneeka's bags out in this Typhoon-like weather. And just to top that off, I left my maths assignment - that was due in last period - at home, so Linda (mum) came in and dropped it off for me. Yes, I know you're saying to yourself "How disrespectful! Calling her mother by her first name!" But the truth is, she's my best friend, I know she's also my mum, but really, she's the closest thing I have, and I am to her. So really, I call her Linda because I think of her as a friend, aswell as my mummu :)

Ha, this brings me to another point, totally on another tangent. When I get older, and have children and such I'm going to call my daughter Tiahlie Malinda (Malinda, after mum; Linda Mary [I'm good right?]) and if I have a boy, he will be Logan Stone, or Logan Johnathan (Johnathan after my poppy, [who is taking me and Courtney to Brisbane this weekend, I'll have to tell you all about it] John).

So anyway, this weekend my poppy is taking me and Courtney down to Brisbane to see Brooks and Dunn, they're this country band that he absoloutly loves. And the oh-so famous Mitchell Maledic from MadisonFox is picking us up from the airport, taking us to out motel, dropping us at the concert, picking us up and then taking us back to the aiport saturday night. Yes my grandfather is 'in' with the scene kids of Queensland (he really is), haha. I absoloutly cannot wait, then Sunday it's mother's day, so we're going out to the Clarion for breakfast, then chilling at the harbour for the day (Mum, Bob [mum's partner], Nana, Poppy, Myself, Taylah, Brittany, Danny, Lara, Kerry and Ben) it should be fun. I'm thinking about getting mum a nice boquet of flowers for mother's day, or maybe some candels from dusk, I'm not quite sure just yet. Ahh I'll work out something in Brisbane.

Well, I'll probably post another blog on Thursday night, just before I go to bed. Until then, nighht.
